Intellectual development occurs through play. Through play, young children engage in active learning when they reconstruct their experiences, generate ideas, and test these ideas.
Teachers become facilitators rather than directors of the children's learning through play. They use appropriate strategies to motivate and encourage the children's learning through participation.
